The Waste Water Residuals

Waste Water Treatment Plant Residuals will be applied to a total of 24 plots. The anticipated treatments for biosolids are 0, 0.5, 1 and 5 English tons per acre dry weight basis. These treatments were formulated using IFAS recommendations for both N and P nutrients of south Florida pasturelands.

The biosolids will be provided by the City of Boca Raton Water Reclamation Facility.

        > residual characteristics (pdf)

The amount of residuals necessary for the first application has been calculated basing on the application rates listed above.

        > residual application calculation (.xls)

To land apply residuals a permit request has been submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
The form contains all information about the residuals, the site, the soil and the maximum loadings allowed.

        > Agricultural Use Permit Form (pdf)
        > Attachment to Part II/11 (pdf)

Also related to the permitting of the land application of residuals are the site life calculation based on the metal loadings and the determination of the maximum residual nitrogen application rate according to Chapter 7 of the EPA Process Design Manual for Land Application of Sewage Sludge and Domestic Septage.
